About

Juliette Markman is a NYC-based director, actor, and theatre-maker. A Connecticut native, Juliette has been involved in the theatre scene for over 15 years. She is currently receiving her undergraduate training at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, studying directing at Playwrights Horizons Theatre School. She is in the top 1% of her class at Tisch, receiving a degree in drama with a minor in producing.

Juliette recently served as the Directing and Playwriting Apprentice at Shakespeare on the Sound in the summer of 2024, Assistant Directing a production of Romeo and Juliet while simultaneously adapting Shakespeare’s work for young audiences.

In the summer of 2023, Juliette was the Artistic and Literary Intern with The York Theatre Company, a not-for-profit theatre based in Manhattan. She helped the team expand its audience to the next generation of theatre-goers, helping the ongoing crisis American theatre is facing post-pandemic by bringing the arts to the youth for affordable prices.

Though she has a main focus in directing, she is a multi-hyphenate artist well versed in acting, design, writing, and more. She is excited to be a part of the many women who will be joining the next generation of directors and theatre-makers!

When not in the theater, she can most likely be found crocheting! Visit @jcrochetscoolstuff on instagram and depop to browse her more tangible art.
